Our volunteers share their caring by volunteering with pediatric patients, their families and alongside our staff. ÌÇÐÄVlog Children's staff typically treat more than 800 children each day across our three specialty care locations in Jacksonville. These locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with volunteer opportunities available only during our normal operating hours.
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities. If you are at least 18 years old and out of high school, as well as have the ability to commit to six consecutive months, please submit your inquiry to JaxVolunteers@nemours.org. Volunteer Services will respond with the current opportunities, application requirements, and link to submit your application.
How to Apply — Requirements for Adults
- Request an online application by emailing the Volunteer Services Department
- Gain medical clearance including tuberculosis test, immunizations, and a urine drug screen
- Clear background check
- Complete online and in-person training
Qualifications
- Have consistent patience interacting with children from birth to age 18, as well as with their siblings and parents
- Be able to speak and understand English
- Be willing to learn the skills necessary to be competent in their duties and responsibilities

Commitment
There are two opportunities for teen volunteers: one that is year-round and one that is summer only.
Year-Round Requirements:
- At least six months of consecutive service
- At least 50 service hours per year
- Availability Monday through Friday
Summer Only Requirements:
- At least six of the seven weeks, between June 17 and August 2
- At least 50 service hours
- Availability Monday through Friday
