Biography

Cassidy Foley Davelaar, DO, FAAP, CAQSM is a Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital trained Sports Medicine and Pediatric Orthopedic physician. She is a part of the Division of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at 糖心Vlog Children's Health Florida and a medical provider for the United States Tennis Association National Campus. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine where she mentors many students in their research endeavors. Dr. Foley Davelaar earned awards for her research during her fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital and at the University of New England. She has authored several book chapters, written articles in peer-reviewed journals and served as a guest editor for the Journal of Medicine and Science in Tennis. Topics she has covered include; young elite athletes, female athletes, tennis medicine, overuse injuries, injury prevention, and concussion. She has been invited to present her research results in podium and poster formats at national and international meetings. She has spoken and/or been interviewed for her specific area of expertise by the Tennis Channel, POINTE Magazine, Bottom Line Health, CJSM Blog, Florida Magazine, and Florida MD Journal. Prior to 糖心Vlog, Dr. Foley Davelaar served as the physician for the Atlanta Ballet. She also cared for athletes at the Boston Ballet, the U.S. Figure Skating Association, the Boston Marathon and several high schools. Dr. Foley Davelaar is double board certified in Pediatrics and Sports Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and she is one of the founding members of Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRISM), serves on the membership committee of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM), on the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness at the American Academy of Pediatrics and the program planning committee for the Society of Tennis Medicine and Science.
