Get to Know Me
I always knew I wanted to take care of children. I strongly believe that the pediatrician鈥檚 office should be the medical home for families and that each patient deserves the time to receive personalized and compassionate care. I grew up in Michigan, and am now a happy Florida transplant. My husband teaches chemistry at Rollins College.
Why I Treat Children
I love the adventure that I get to take with families as their small babies grow and move through all the milestones of childhood. The honesty and innocence of children never ceases to surprise me and put a smile on my face, even when they are not feeling well. I view it as a privilege to be a stable source of support for both patients and families. The bonds we form remind me of why I wanted to practice medicine in the first place.
What I'm Passionate About
I am passionate about providing comprehensive, evidence-based, high-quality medicine to my patients. I recognize that every patient and family鈥檚 circumstances, background and medical issues are different, and I want to provide that individualized care that鈥檚 needed for them. I want to empower my patients and families to be as knowledgeable as possible about their health, and I encourage healthy lifestyle choices for the entire family.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I try to draw from my past experiences and continue to push myself to be a lifelong learner of medicine. Being a new parent opened my eyes to what an awesome responsibility this is. It has given me an even better perspective on how important education, communication and reassurance is for my families. One of the most important things I can do as a doctor is to build trust with families. It takes time and true effort to truly appreciate their experiences.
